Children’s rights are everywhere and concern all areas of life. Accordingly, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child must also be implemented in such a way that it concerns all areas of life. The German Constitution provides a foundation for this whis is why we advocate for the anchoring of children’s rights in the German constitution.
Municipalities, federal states and the federal government must work together to ensure that due consideration is given to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in political processes and decisions. Children’s rights should not only play a role in departments responsible for children, youth and family, but should be included in all policy areas.
Systematic and continuous data collection and children’s rights indicators could facilitate the assessment of the overall situation of children and provide guidance for the development, control and assessment of political measures aimed at implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
